Dorset Mini Break +Anniversary

Hello Bloggers! It’s finally the weekend and tomorrow marks exactly one week until Halloween, ahh exciting! I have so many Halloween posts planned, I can’t wait. I haven’t been able to blog a lot recently either as I’ve been away, which makes me extra excited to get stuck into next weeks posts (aiming for a blog a day).

If you’ve read my last post, I briefly explained that I was going away to Dorset for a mini break and to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. I got back this afternoon and have pretty much just been chilling all day, going through the hundreds of photos I took (photography addict) and editing my faves to upload onto Instagram, and of course my blog 🙂

I don’t want to ramble on too much in this intro so I’ll get straight into inserting and narrating the snaps. Hope you enjoy reading, and happy weekend 🙂

We drove down to Weymouth (Haven holiday park) on Monday afternoon and collected the keys to our caravan that became our home for the next four nights. I was a bit apprehensive at first about staying in a caravan as I admit I’m definitely a hotel/room service kind of girl, but the caravan was actually so cosy inside and really well decorated with a seaside theme and fireplace for the evenings. I’m back in my own bed as I write this now and I’m really missing our little home away from home.

If you’re going away for longer than two nights in the UK I would 100% recommend that you check out holiday parks, especially if you are travelling with young children. The evening entertainment looked really good too for the kids, and theres swimming pools and even an arcade. We visited the arcade one night and my boyfriend won me a toy of Anna from Frozen. I was so excited that night (such a big kid).

We woke up early on Tuesday morning and began the day by driving to West Bay, a small harbour and part of the Jurassic Coast. West Bay was also the setting for ITV’s Broadchurch which I am desperate to watch. We climbed to the top of the famous cliff from the series and took plenty of snaps.

Tuesday also marked our first year together, so after spending the morning in West Bay we moved onto Lyme Regis, a nearby town. Lyme Regis is beautiful and I can only imagine how much better it must get in the summer… And you won’t believe who we saw when we stopped to buy ice-cream… Jeremy Kyle! Ok, so he’s not the biggest celebrity but he was queuing up right behind us with his children to buy ice-cream, I couldn’t believe it! I really wanted to ask him for a photo but my boyfriend pointed out it was best not to as he was having a family day (plus he looked grumpy). Later that evening, we continued celebrating our day by going out for dinner 🙂

On Wednesday it rained pretty much the whole day so we took advantage by visiting Poole and going shopping. I bought one of mums birthday presents this day which was inspired by Tasha from thatlittleblogofeverything who posted an unboxing of the beauty product (I don’t want to say more as my mum sometimes reads my blog), but be sure to check it out here on Tasha’s blog. She’s a very talented writer who is 100% committed to blogging and constantly uploading amazing posts, each one just as good as the last. Not to mention she’s generally a really lovely girl.

On Thursday we visited Lulworth Cove (photos above) and then drove up the road to Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast.

This was my first time visiting Dorset and I had an amazing time. Have you been before? Or where’s your favourite place to visit for a getaway?

Happy Weekend 😚
