Hello Bloggers! Happy Weekend!
In my recent blog post I did a TK MAXX Christmas present haul/ideas. I found some amazing products at great prices including: beauty advent calendars, make-up and pampering. At the same time of browsing products in TK MAXX for this post, I found a bareMinerals set titled ‘A Flawless Future: 7-piece collection for eyes, lips and face’. This set (pictured above) is retailed at £40 but was on sale for £24.99. I’ve used bareMinerals in the past but never quite fell in love with the brand. I debated for quite a while whether or not to give them another chance, and at such a great price I couldn’t resist.
The set includes:
Original SPF 15 Foundation
Clear Radiance All-Over Face Colour
Stroke of Light Eye Brightener
Flawless Definition Mascara in Black
Frame & Define Brow Styler in Universal Taupe
Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Go Getter
Flawless Application Face Brush
I am undecided with how much I like this foundation. Although it gives off a lovely tan, I found it can take quite a few layers of product to give any real coverage. As well as this, I didn’t find the product covered many imperfections, and wouldn’t work well on days when I am having troubled skin. The concealer however, performs exactly how it is described in the leaflet: ‘Immediately brightens the eye area and diffuses dark shadows’. Next up is the Clear Radiance All-Over Face Colour. This highlighter is similar to the foundation in that it requires quite a few applications to make a difference. I wouldn’t choose it before my Mac Mineralize Skinfinish.
bareMinerals mascara and brow pencil are the better products from this set. The mascara instantly lengthens the look of lashes and doesn’t clump, leaving lashes individually conditioned. The bristles of this wand are very fine and make it easy to target individual lashes. The brow pencil is definitely my favourite product from the set. This wand is double ended, one side with the colour and the other features a built-in brush.
Lastly, the Marvellous Moxie lipgloss is a gorgeous subtle pink tone. It doesn’t feel sticky and tastes of mint. Overall, I don’t think I would invest much money into bareMinerals again unless there’s a massive online hype about a certain product. I personally prefer liquid foundation as I find it covers stronger and instantly. But, for under £25, I can’t complain.
