Girl’s Day – Selfridge’s London Roof Terrace

I’ve always wanted to visit a roof terrace; the beaming sunshine on your face as you sip on sweet homemade cocktails in good company whilst summer tunes play in the background – sounds absolutely perfect! So when Nicole asked me if I was free this weekend, I knew exactly where we had to go – although I’ve gotta admit, this cute location was actually her discovery – thanks gurl!

We visited The Roof Deck in Selfridge’s Oxford Street, which you fancily access via a private lift and through long beach themed corridors. After quoting our booking, we were shown onto the terrace and offered to sit anywhere we like, so when we noticed a free beach hut there was no hesitation. There’s three of these huts in total, so maybe get there early if you really want to nab one, although during our visit it never got all that busy. As for the huts themselves, there were so cute and Instagramable; complete with boho covered cushions, cactus prints and even throw blankets for those chilly evenings – I definitely want to come back here on a date night.

Cocktail time! Nicole ordered the very exotic, Sex on the Beach, which actually wasn’t on the menu but the barman very kindly whipped up. I’m personally not big on alcohol, so went for the Pacific Walk mocktail – a blend of coconut water, pineapple reduction, lime juice and rosemary. The flavours were amazing, my only moan would be that the presentation wasn’t all there. Their cocktails come served in a standard pub glass with no grenadine for added fusion.

We spent a few hours catching up at the roof terrace before hitting the shops at Oxford Street and moving onto Covent Garden. Aside from Leicester Square, Covent Garden has always been one of favourite places in London. No matter what time of day or day of the week you visit, there is also something going on, whether it be street performers or beautiful new decor to take pictures beside. Girl’s day, we need more of you!
