Miss Guided Haul S/S ’18

The end of the month marks payday, so naturally I did a bit of online shopping to celebrate this exciting event. Whenever I shop online though I always seem to lean towards Asos – probably because of the free next day delivery and returns – but recently I’ve been struggling to find much that I love from there, and then the few items I do pick (swimsuits mostly) have been coming out really odd sizing. So giving Asos a break from my debit card, I saw advertised all over social media that Miss Guided had a sale on, and well, then this post happened…

Random little fact about me – I love astrology and I have no idea why. I think I’ve just always liked my horoscope symbol, and as a kid I remember obsessing over having to find the ‘Leo the Lion’ birthday cake I had previously seen in the supermarket that month. Anyway, fast-forward what’s nearly 20-years and one of my favourite Youtubers, Anna Saccone released a range of horoscope necklaces in memory of her late father. I wear this necklace everyday on a chain with my own father’s horoscope (this will make sense if you follow her). So this super random story is pretty much my explanation for the black t-shirt purchase above (probably coulda just gone with ‘I liked this top so I bought it’.

Ok, I am so in love with this white/nude playsuit and it was only £22 in the sale! Such a bargain for a summer staple. You can pair it up with literally any colour heel; perhaps a deep red or sapphire blue if you really want to make a statement, or keep it classy for a night in central with strappy black heels – summer come at me already!

Now moving onto the swimsuit, I’m going to have to return this as the low slits either side really isn’t the most practical design. I was hoping it’d be more skin tight as to avoid nip-slip but it just doesn’t work. However I am still on the hunt for a red one-piece swimsuit this summer. I actually ordered this one on Asos the other day too. Really simple yet understated and I loved it, but they only had petite and it didn’t fit despite me only being 5ft’5 (Tip; size up on Asos swimwear this season).

My next purchase is this black playsuit. It’s pretty figure hugging but I figured it’d be fine for when on holiday and you’re boiling alive. They also have it in white, and the fabric is quite good quality so I don’t think it’d be see through at all. The red playsuit next to it is also available in quite a few colours but as you can probably tell by now, I’m a little obsessed with red. I think this playsuit is quite versatile though; you could really dress it up or down depending on your ‘I have nothing to wear’ crisis that day/night.

The few final bits I bought include another t-shirt – easy to tuck into a high-waisted denim skirt or pair with mom jeans or patterned skirts. I’m a little disappointed with this polka-dot dress though. I’m currently ‘on the market’ to add some polka-dots into my wardrobe and really liked how this piece looked on the model, but the fabric is that kind of stretchy material that clings to you and rolls up, so that’s another return to be made. I then added a little black bag into my shopping basket for no other reason than because it was on sale. Then finally I’m also going to return this bodysuit. I love the colour and everything about it, but it’s just too small around the boob area and a size up would probably be too big around my waist. So that concludes my spending spree. Let me know your go-to store right now. I’m definitely still wanting to buy more!
